Welcome to the Departmental Seminar

The Political Science Departmental Seminar is one of our long-standing traditions that is central to the vision and mission of the graduate program. The Departmental Seminar is more than a course; it is a separate degree component and requirement. The Seminar brings together all faculty and students in a mandatory weekly discussion that include:

  • Engaging invited guest lecturers in scholarly exchanges of ideas on political thought and contemporary political issues;

  • Presentations by faculty and graduate students on research and scholarship;

  • Departmental orientation sessions; and

  • Ujamaa Graduate Student Organization meetings.

General Information

  • Seminar Lectures are open to the public.

  • Seminars are held on Tuesdays and begin at 530pm sharp.

  • Location: 103 Carl and Mary Ware Hall
